Home Staging Phoenix
Stacey read the want ads for a home staging in Phoenix position. It hadn't been 24 hours since she'd been fired from a job that she hated, and now she was gong to do something that she would love and that would pay better. She called the number that was listed in the advertisement, and the woman she talked to told her that with her interior decorating skills, a staging job would be ideal. But the woman told her she'd need to be an accredited staging professional (ASP) if she were going to start her own business and be successful at it. This meant training at an accredited program to give her special skills that are needed for the work. Courses ranged from a few days to slightly less than a month, and Stacey felt that it would be worth it. Years ago before moving to Phoenix, Stacey had thought about becoming a real estate agent. She hadn't, but with the housing boom, she'd often wished she had. She'd watched as row after row of brand new houses went up in new neighborhoods all around Phoenix. Now, the housing boom was over and it was the resell market that was heating up. Homebuyers would pay a premium for houses that were professionally prepared for sale, over those that were not. She knew it, and she knew there was a big market for people who could stage the furnishings and lighting correctly, increasing the market value of the home for the seller. Stacey contacted some of the Phoenix schools that were offering courses in staging. She wanted to be ASP(r) certified in this new career, helping sellers get top dollar for their homes. Real estate agents would be her bread and butter, giving her the referrals that would grow her business. Doing some research, Stacey found out that Barb Schwarz created home staging years ago, going on to spearhead a number of related groups, including the Accredited Staging Professional (ASP(r)) program and the Staging University. She even went so far as to create the International Association of Home Staging Professionals. She eventually started stagehomes.com to train stagers and real estate agents in her techniques. Graduates became automatic members of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals. That sounded pretty good to Stacey. In the course, she'd learn the special staging techniques of interior decorating, plus receive training in a lot of practical business aspects, such as taxes, getting insurance, and other things that she would need while operating her own business. And the Phoenix real estate agents who would be her bread and butter to success would also be taking the staging course. She could network with them, jump-starting her new career. What Stacey especially liked about the whole staging business was that these were real professionals. ASP(r) had it's own code of ethics and consumer foundation of service creed. |
